Find the cause of a website or business-email problem before paying for uncertain work
For eligible WordPress, WooCommerce, hosting, DNS, SSL, website-form and professional business-email configuration incidents. Begin with a structured diagnostic, receive written findings and approve any covered recovery separately.
One defined incident · Written findings · No remediation without approval
Use recovery when a previously working digital service develops a defined fault
This is an incident service, not an unlimited support plan. If the requirement is a redesign, migration, new system or ongoing maintenance, we will recommend the more appropriate route.
WordPress, WooCommerce, hosting and routing faults
- Website unavailable or returning a server error
- WordPress login, update or plugin-related failure
- WooCommerce checkout or routine store-function fault
- SSL certificate, redirect or mixed-content problem
- DNS or domain routing pointed incorrectly
- Contact form not submitting or delivering as expected
Professional mailbox configuration and delivery faults
- Business email cannot send or receive
- Incorrect MX or related DNS records
- SPF, DKIM or DMARC configuration issue
- Website-form messages not reaching the intended mailbox
- SMTP connection or authentication configuration fault
- Domain or mailbox routing changed unexpectedly
Diagnosis first, then approved recovery where the incident qualifies
The diagnostic is paid upfront. It is credited towards the covered recovery package when that work is confirmed and approved immediately under the published scope.
Structured Diagnostic
- One clearly described incident
- Up to 60 minutes of diagnostic checks
- External and read-only checks first where practical
- Review of relevant symptoms and available technical evidence
- Written findings and recommended next step
- No remediation or account changes without separate approval
Same-Day Recovery Package
- The £75 diagnostic is credited when covered work is immediately approved
- Up to three hours of approved covered remediation
- Work limited to the diagnosed incident and confirmed action
- One verification round against the agreed recovery point
- Short completion record
- 48 hours of limited support relating to the completed recovery
Same-day work is not a guarantee that every incident can be recovered that day
Eligibility depends on availability, diagnosis, authorised access, backups, third-party systems and the fault remaining within the published three-hour scope. If the work is not covered, the written diagnostic will explain the recommended route and any separate quotation.
A narrow incident scope keeps the service practical and the price clear
Diagnosis may reveal that the problem needs a different provider, additional investigation, account-owner action or a separately quoted project.
Defined configuration and operational faults
- WordPress, plugin or theme configuration correction
- Routine hosting, PHP or database setting correction
- DNS, SSL and domain-routing correction
- Form, SMTP and mailbox configuration correction
- SPF, DKIM and DMARC record correction
- Restore from a suitable client-authorised backup where practical
Security, large-scale and third-party matters
- Account-compromise investigation or malware forensics
- Penetration testing, security certification or legal advice
- Major development, redesign or feature building
- Complex database repair or specialist data recovery
- Bulk-email systems, sender-reputation repair or delivery guarantees
- Third-party subscriptions, licences, hosting or provider charges
Email delivery depends on systems outside MEG’s control
MEG can assess and correct eligible configuration issues, but cannot guarantee inbox placement, recovery of deleted messages, restoration of suspended third-party accounts or action by domain, hosting, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or other service providers.
Six controlled stages from incident description to completion
Each stage keeps authority, access and payment clear before any system change is made.
Describe one incident
Provide the affected service, visible symptoms, when the problem began and any recent known change.
Confirm diagnostic fit
Check that the request is suitable for the structured diagnostic and identify the initial information required.
Investigate the fault
Perform up to 60 minutes of proportionate checks, beginning externally or read-only where practical.
Explain findings
Record the likely cause, recovery recommendation, eligibility, dependencies and any identified risk.
Authorise covered work
Confirm the action, remaining payment and necessary access before remediation begins.
Recover and verify
Complete the approved covered action, conduct one verification round and issue a short completion record.
Provide useful facts without exposing credentials
The initial form should contain enough information to identify the incident, but it must not contain passwords, recovery codes or confidential personal data.
Help us understand the incident
- Affected website, domain or email service
- Exact error message or visible behaviour
- Approximate time the problem began
- Recent update, migration, DNS or provider change
- Which users or functions are affected
- Whether a recent usable backup is believed to exist
Protect sensitive access information
- Passwords or mailbox credentials
- One-time codes or recovery codes
- Private keys, API secrets or complete database exports
- Payment-card information
- Unnecessary personal or confidential records
- Access belonging to another party without authority
Use temporary, least-privilege access where system access becomes necessary
MEG will request only the access reasonably needed for an approved diagnostic or recovery action. Access should be created or shared through an agreed secure method not through the public website form.
- You must own the service or have authority to request the work
- Use a temporary support user where the platform allows it
- Limit permissions to the diagnosed service and approved action
- Remove or rotate access after completion
Account ownership remains with you
You retain responsibility for provider accounts, billing, domain ownership, licences, backups and final business acceptance. Third-party account recovery may require action directly from the verified account owner.

Questions about Website & Email Recovery
Why is the £75 diagnostic required?
The same visible symptom can have several causes. The diagnostic provides a controlled investigation and written recommendation before anyone commits to uncertain remediation.
Is the £75 additional to the £225 recovery price?
Not when an eligible covered recovery is immediately approved under the published terms. In that case, the £75 is credited and the remaining £150 is paid before remediation. If no covered recovery proceeds, the diagnostic remains a completed standalone service.
Will my problem definitely be fixed for £225?
No. The package applies only when diagnosis confirms that the recovery is suitable for the published scope and can reasonably be attempted within up to three approved hours. Otherwise, you receive findings and the recommended alternative.
Does same-day mean guaranteed same-day recovery?
No. Same-day work is subject to availability, prompt access and approval, incident eligibility and third-party dependencies. Some faults require provider action, a longer project or specialist investigation.
Can you recover Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace email?
MEG can assess eligible domain, DNS, authentication and client-side configuration issues. Account suspension, identity verification, deleted-data recovery and provider-controlled restrictions may need to be handled directly with Microsoft, Google or the relevant reseller.
Can you guarantee that messages reach the recipient’s inbox?
No. Correct configuration can improve legitimate delivery, but inbox placement also depends on sender reputation, message content, recipient filtering, sending behaviour and third-party systems.
What happens after the 48-hour support period?
Support during that period is limited to the completed recovery action. A new fault, expanded requirement or later maintenance need is assessed as a new incident, quotation or Digital Care requirement.
Reduce repeat website incidents with Digital Care
Once the immediate fault is resolved, an eligible WordPress website can be assessed for scheduled updates, monitoring, backup-status checks and defined ongoing support.
